The Leather:
Hand crafted from vegetable tanned (naturally tanned) leather. We use full grain leather which retains the full richness and character of the leather. Vegetable tanned leather will develop a wonderful patina over time. The case is designed to last decades and improve with age and use.
Sizing:
This case will hold a single standard sized deck* or smaller, up to the below dimensions:
3 inches (72mm) wide
1.25 inches (32mm) deep
5 inches (125mm) tall
*Tarot card deck not included.

The Artwork:
The art has been permanently etched into the leather in black/brown. We use paints specially formulated for use on leather.
- The front of this leather case displays a butterfly painted in vibrant yellow, turquoise blue and red tones under a glowing sun, and above a small floral design.
- The back of the case features a butterfly painted in classic colors over a patch of wildflowers.
The Colors:
The warm brown hand dyed leather provides a vintage and mildly distressed backdrop to the art with a slightly retro vintage vibe. Our hand-dyed leather process produces an array of shades with depth in the color. The natural character of the real full grain leather combined with the hand dying /hand painting process makes your case unique. We use specialty paints formulated for use on leather.
Hardware:
An upgraded heavy duty antique brass toned metal clasp keeps the case safely closed when not in use and your cards secure. A thumb slot hidden under the front flap allows for easy retrieval of your deck.
Hand stitching:
Hand sewn with a unique multi colored waxed thread, with varying and alternating shades of yellow, orange, red, blue and green for a whimsical and charming appeal. We use a saddle stitch, which is a proven hand stitching method for keeping all the seams super tight and to prevent unraveling.

We are unable to add personalization or customization to non-custom / ready-made items after purchase, because of differences in pricing, processing and shipping times, fabrication methods, and return policies. What is vegetable tanned leather?
Vegetable tanning is an organic process to preserve the leather. It uses natural tannins from plant sources, making it more environmentally friendly. It’s a slow process which takes weeks to months to complete.
Vegetable-tanned leather has some rigidity to it, which helps the product to retain its shape and integrity. Vegetable-tanned leather will soften and develop a rich patina over time, meaning your item will develop a unique and appealing appearance as it ages, only getting better with time.
By contrast, chrome-tanned leather is quickly chemically and more inexpensively tanned. It may present toxins to the environment and manufacturing employees. "Vegan", faux, or PU leather is petroleum-based polyurethane/vinyl.Tarot Case Sizing and Capacity
There are many different sizes of card decks, so be sure to check your specific deck's measurement against your listing before ordering.
Most tarot card cases are sized to house a standard sized tarot deck or smaller. The standard cases will house this size deck or smaller:
2 7/8 inches (72mm) wide
1.25 inches (32mm) deep
4 15/16 inches (125mm) tall.
All our standard size tarot cases are tested at the time of creation and prior to shipping, using a classic RW deck from a US publisher. We also have listings in our shop for palm sized (slightly smaller) or oversized decks. If you need a larger case to fit your specific deck, I would be happy to custom build one for you.
