DetailsThis Premium Handmade Leather Tarot Card Case is available in two different size options - Standard and Standard Deep. The deeper case has been sized for tarot or oracle decks with a standard height and width, but a slightly larger depth (see sizing below). The tarot deck boxes feature a dragonfly over moonlit water lilies. The artwork adds a unique and meaningful touch to the case. These special leather tarot card cases are hand dyed and hand sewn in our shop.
Hand crafted from vegetable tanned (naturally tanned) leather. We use full grain leather which retains the full richness and character of the leather. Vegetable tanned leather will develop a wonderful patina with use. The case is designed to last decades and improve with age and use.
Art and Design:
The art has been permanently etched into the leather in black.
- The front of this leather case displays a dragonfly over a full moon which is rising above a water lily.
- The back of the case features a moonlit water garden, with water lilies glowing in the moonlight.
The many shades of blue provide a unique and colorful backdrop to the art. Our hand-dyed leather process produces an array of shades with incredible depth in the color. The natural character of the real full grain leather combined with the hand dying process makes each case unique.
Hardware:
A heavy metal clasp keeps the case closed when not in use. A thumb slot hidden under the front flap allows for easy retrieval of your tarot cards.

Hand Stitching:
Hand sewn with heavy waxed thread. We use a saddle stitch, which is a proven hand stitching method for keeping all the seams super tight and to prevent unraveling.
- Standard case: dark blue thread
- Standard Deep case: ivory thread

1.25 inches (32mm) deep

3 inches (76mm) wide
1.50 inches (38mm) deep (.25 larger than our standard sized cases)
5 inches (127mm) tall

Most tarot card cases are sized to house a standard sized tarot deck or smaller. The standard cases will house this size deck or smaller:

1.25 inches (32mm) deep
4 15/16 inches (125mm) tall.
All our standard size tarot cases are tested at the time of creation and prior to shipping, using a classic RW deck from a US publisher. We also have listings in our shop for palm sized (slightly smaller) or oversized decks. If you need a larger case to fit your specific deck, I would be happy to custom build one for you. Vegetable tanning is an organic process to preserve the leather. It uses natural tannins from plant sources, making it more environmentally friendly. It’s a slow process which takes weeks to months to complete.
Vegetable-tanned leather has some rigidity to it, which helps the product to retain its shape and integrity. Vegetable-tanned leather will soften and develop a rich patina over time, meaning your item will develop a unique and appealing appearance as it ages, only getting better with time.
By contrast, chrome-tanned leather is quickly chemically and more inexpensively tanned. It may present toxins to the environment and manufacturing employees. "Vegan", faux, or PU leather is petroleum-based polyurethane/vinyl.
