DetailsA wise all-seeing owl patiently waits on a branch in front of the full moon on this premium leather tarot card case hand dyed in Frontier Brown and hand sewn in Ivory Tan.
This hand dyed case specializes in marbled dark and rich browns with contrasting natural tan moon light highlights for unique and interesting styling. The hand dying process creates depth in the color, and the dye interacts differently with each piece of leather, ensuring your case is as unique as you. The swirling blacks, dark browns, and tans create a vintage distressed look which makes a great backdrop to the owl art that is etched into the leather.
Hand crafted from vegetable tanned (naturally tanned) leather. We use full grain leather which retains the full richness and character of the leather. Vegetable tanned leather will develop a wonderful patina with use. The case is designed to last decades and improve with age and use.
The case is hand sewn in a heavy-duty Ivory Tan waxed thread (saddle stitched) that really brings out the contrast of the natural tan and dark brown.
The art is permanently etched into the leather in black.
- The back of the case features a large Owl on branch. The eyes always watching from the top of the case closure.
- The front of the case features an Owl perched on a branch in front of a full moon.
This case comes with a heavy antique brass metal clasp. There is a thumb slot cut out that is hidden under the front flap to allow for easy retrieval of your tarot cards. Hand sewn (saddle stitched to avoid any unraveling) with Ivory Tan thread that keeps all seams super tight.
Made to last decades and improve with age and use.

Most tarot card cases are sized to house a standard sized tarot deck or smaller. The standard cases will house this size deck or smaller:
2 7/8 inches (72mm) wide
1.25 inches (32mm) deep
4 15/16 inches (125mm) tall.
All our standard size tarot cases are tested at the time of creation and prior to shipping, using a classic RW deck from a US publisher. We also have listings in our shop for palm sized (slightly smaller) or oversized decks. If you need a larger case to fit your specific deck, I would be happy to custom build one for you. Vegetable tanning is an organic process to preserve the leather. It uses natural tannins from plant sources, making it more environmentally friendly. It’s a slow process which takes weeks to months to complete.
Vegetable-tanned leather has some rigidity to it, which helps the product to retain its shape and integrity. Vegetable-tanned leather will soften and develop a rich patina over time, meaning your item will develop a unique and appealing appearance as it ages, only getting better with time.
By contrast, chrome-tanned leather is quickly chemically and more inexpensively tanned. It may present toxins to the environment and manufacturing employees. "Vegan", faux, or PU leather is petroleum-based polyurethane/vinyl.
