DetailsOur Oversized Egyptian 2 Color Hand Made Tarot Card Case is sized to fit larger decks. This premium leather tarot deck holder features ancient Egyptian imagery including Winged Isis, Thoth, Ankh, Eye of Ra, and Hieroglyphs. It is handsewn with blue thread. This tarot deck box is made for decks that are larger than standard size. Will house 5.75" Height x 4" Width x 1.25" Depth and smaller decks.
Hand crafted from vegetable tanned (naturally tanned) leather. We use full grain leather which retains the full richness and character of the hide. Vegetable tanned leather will develop a wonderful patina with use. The case is designed to last decades and improve with age and use.
This tarot deck box is hand dyed in two tones:
- A muted shade we call Moonlight covers the front, back top and bottom of the case.
- An antique amber tan shade covers the sides.
Each case is individually hand crafted, hand dyed and hand sewn. Our hand-dyed leather process produces an array of shades with incredible depth in the color. The natural character of the real full grain leather combined with the hand dying process makes each case unique.
The ancient Egyptian imagery is permanently engraved in the leather:
- The front of this leather case displays the Eye of Ra.
- Thoth is prominent on the back side.
- Winged Isis stretches over the top and onto the front flap.
- Two sets of Egyptian Hieroglyphics cover the sides.
- Ankh symbol is displayed on the inside opening flap (so the user will see the Ankh when retrieving cards from the case)
This case comes with a heavy antique brass clasp. There is a thumb slot cut out that is hidden under the front flap to allow for easy retrieval of your tarot cards. Hand sewn with Egyptian blue (sapphire blue) thread that keeps all seems super tight.
Will house a 5.75" Height x 4" Width x 1.25" Depth (or smaller) tarot card deck.
This is a hand made, hand dyed case - mildly distressed and antiqued. Leather is a natural product that accepts the dye differently for each application. Color can/may vary from pics.

Sizing details
There are many different sizes of card decks, so be sure to check your specific deck's measurement against your listing before ordering.
Most tarot card cases are sized to house a standard sized tarot deck or smaller. The standard cases will house this size deck or smaller:
2 7/8 inches (72mm) wide
1.25 inches (32mm) deep
4 15/16 inches (125mm) tall.
All our standard size tarot cases are tested at the time of creation and prior to shipping, using a classic RW deck from a US publisher. We also have listings in our shop for palm sized (slightly smaller) or oversized decks. If you need a larger case to fit your specific deck, I would be happy to custom build one for you. Vegetable tanning is an organic process to preserve the leather. It uses natural tannins from plant sources, making it more environmentally friendly. It’s a slow process which takes weeks to months to complete.
Vegetable-tanned leather has some rigidity to it, which helps the product to retain its shape and integrity. Vegetable-tanned leather will soften and develop a rich patina over time, meaning your item will develop a unique and appealing appearance as it ages, only getting better with time.
By contrast, chrome-tanned leather is quickly chemically and more inexpensively tanned. It may present toxins to the environment and manufacturing employees. "Vegan", faux, or PU leather is petroleum-based polyurethane/vinyl.
